History

Founded in 2011, Chicago Repertory Ballet is Chicago's Contemporary Ballet company focused on examining the dance genre from a contemporary perspective. Our individual choreographic style blends classical ballet with contemporary dance forms. Chicago Repertory Ballet is focused on breaking people’s preconcieved notions of the artform and bringing 'dance that defies labels' to the stage. With choreographic works like The Four SeasonsLe Sacre Du Printemps and (Artistic Director Wade Schaaf's) Macbeth Chicago Repertory Ballet brings storytelling to the forefront of the company's repertoire.
