The Chicago Repertory Ballet Youth Ensemble (CRBYE) offers a unique, pre-professional opportunity for young dancers aged 14-18 to develop their skills within the inspiring Chicago Repertory Ballet ecosystem. Designed for advanced dancers eager to enhance their technique, performance abilities, and artistic understanding, CRBYE provides a platform to train intensively, work in an ensemble, and connect with professionals in the ballet world.

Under the guidance of Artistic Director Wade Schaaf, CRBYE members perform both classical and contemporary works from as well as CRB repertory. Additionally, participants benefit from mentorship and specialized classes taught by CRB company dancers, immersing them in an enriching blend of technical training and creative exploration.

CRBYE performs at various festivals in the Chicago area, CRB main company events, the annual gala, and in productions like The Nutcracker. Members also have the chance to compete at select events, broadening their exposure and experience.

Alumni of CRBYE have gone on to prestigious dance programs, including The Ailey School/Fordham and Colorado State University Dance, exemplifying the program’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of exceptional dance talent.

This immersive program offers two tracks to suit individual goals: the Performance Track and the Performance and Training Track, providing flexibility to accommodate dancers’ commitments and aspirations.
